This residence settles into a hillside slope. From the road, only parts of the roof and some of the massive chimneys are visible. The great driveway actually first turns away from the house, partly to make the approach more gradual, but primarily to set-up an unexpected axis aligned with the front door. A parapet wall grounds the entry courtyard to the left, with wrought iron and glass openings that actually are windows lighting an indoor pool on the level above. The owners have a rich collection of art, which led to much of the interior designed for display areas.
